Hali Ledet is from Lafayette, Louisiana. She is currently a sophomore at Tulane University majoring in Public Health and minoring in International Development. Her research interests include maternal and child health and the adverse health outcomes of traditionally marginalized groups—specifically those that identify as both Black and female. Hali is super excited to work with Women with a Vision, Inc. and address the root causes of the social problems she seeks to change by collaborating with, teaching, and learning from Black female high school students about topics such as intersectional feminism, reproductive justice, and what it means to be Black, female, and young growing up in the South. When she is not researching issues related to reproductive rights and reproductive health, she is working for Tulane’s Center for Public Service, programming events for the Changemaker Residential Learning Community, or getting involved with TU Black Student Union.
