I am Ishanya Narang, a rising sophomore at Tulane. I am majoring in Communications, with a minor in Psychology. I hope to make a professional career in the field of marketing. In keeping with this goal I will be working with AdmitAd India as a Affiliate Marketing intern this summer.
AdmitAd is a German affiliate network that provides publishers with the technical and organizational tools necessary to drive advertising campaigns. Based on my application, I have been selected to work directly with the CEO. The CEO of the company is a pioneer in the field of digital media marketing and has received several awards for her leadership. She perfectly exemplifies Newcomb College Institute’s mission to nurture women’s leadership as she spearheads a movement to broaden the professional horizon for the next generation of women. An internship under her guidance would be an invaluable experience, not just for my professional advancement, but also to imbibe interpersonal skills and a sense of self-confidence in my abilities and goals.
This is a very expansive opportunity for me to be able to work in the field of marketing in an environment that fosters independence in thought and critical thinking skills. It almost blurs the boundaries that keep women away from management positions in the job market and allows the freedom to learn and engage without hesitation. I am very excited to start this internship because I believe it is a very thorough experience that satisfies my ideas of professional and personal growth, while simultaneously allowing me to branch out, as a woman of color, to achieve my goals and translate my ideals of women leadership in a professional environment.
