Hello! My name is Sydney, and this past summer, I continued work on Dr. Katherine Johnson’s and Dr. Alyssa Lederer’s study investigating whether a new course in the Gender and Sexuality Studies department could serve as an effective intervention for changing Tulane’s climate regarding sexuality, sexual health, and sexual violence. Having transcribed and cleaned all of the interviews we conducted with students in the spring, we are now working on finalizing our code book for the analysis of these transcripts. I am eager to put to use the skills I learned through the Nvivo tutorial online course I took this summer and excited to see what analysis of our data reveals in terms of the impact the course had on students. In addition to beginning our qualitative analysis of the interviews, we are preparing to present our work at several conferences, so I am looking forward to contributing to slides that signify the beginnings of our dissemination of the results from the GESS 1900 study. In tandem with this work, I am thrilled to continue to be a part of the RRRH internship community. I am consistently inspired by my fellow RRRH interns and the professionals we have the opportunity to meet through the program. Looking forward to an influential semester!
