Blog post!!!
Hi everyone!! My name is Grace Riley, and I am new to the Reproductive Rights and Reproductive Health Internship program. I am a sophomore and a public health major on the pre-med track, originally from Nashville, TN. At home, I spend a lot of time volunteering in the birthing unit at my local hospital and this has made me extremely passionate about reproductive justice and inspired me to pursue a career in maternal health.
This summer, I began working with Dr. Clare Daniel at the Newcomb Institute to develop a questionnaire for alumni of the RRRH program to evaluate the program. After developing this, we distributed it and got great feedback! Now we are working on writing up these results along with the results of the program end-of-term and site supervisor surveys. Specifically, we are using these results to create a program framework for other higher education institutes to use so that they can create programs that cultivate social justice activism like this one. We are hoping to finish this project and get it published this fall.
I am so excited to join the RRRH internship community. I am looking forward to getting to know the other interns better and can already tell that this is going to be an influential semester!
